INTRODUCTION TO THE DEPARTMENT

The B.Sc. in Operation Theatre Technology programme is designed to prepare students for professional roles within surgical and peri-operative care environments. The programme builds a strong foundation in operation theatre protocols, sterilisation techniques, surgical instrumentation, and patient safety, supported by structured clinical exposure.

Graduates are equipped to pursue careers in hospitals, surgical centres, and healthcare institutions through a curriculum that integrates academic learning with practical application. This balanced approach ensures the development of procedural competence, teamwork skills, and professional discipline required in surgical care settings.

Students also gain real-world exposure through hands-on OT training, supervised clinical practice, and interaction with surgical teams, helping bridge the gap between classroom learning and professional practice while supporting safe and efficient surgical services.
