Training aligned with clinical and optical industry needs
We recognised the growing need for skilled healthcare professionals well before the pandemic underscored its importance. At SPMC Foundation, we have brought together a modern learning centre, experienced faculty, and a balanced academic framework to support healthcare education and training at SPM IHS, Panvel, Navi Mumbai. Our academic environment supports healthcare learning pathways across programmes such as Operation Theatre Technology (OTT), B.Sc. Optometry, B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT), B.Sc. Radiology, and Nursing-related healthcare programmes, delivered through structured instruction and practical exposure.
Expert Teachers:Our faculty includes experienced doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals who bring strong clinical insight, academic depth, and industry exposure into the learning environment.
Real-Life Training:Students gain hands-on experience through structured training modules and supervised clinical exposure. With access to two eye hospitals, including one within the campus at Panvel, learners benefit from early clinical familiarity and real-world healthcare settings alongside their academic progression.
The B.Sc. in Optometry programme is designed to prepare students for professional roles in eye care and vision science services. The programme builds a strong foundation in ocular anatomy, visual assessment, refraction techniques, and the use of optometric instruments, supported by hands-on clinical training. Graduates are equipped to pursue careers in eye hospitals, vision care clinics, optical practices, and healthcare settings through a curriculum that integrates academic learning with practical application. This balanced approach ensures the development of clinical precision, patient interaction skills, and professional competence required in eye care services. Students also gain real-world exposure through clinical practice, patient assessments, and interaction with eye care professionals, helping bridge the gap between classroom learning and professional practice while contributing to improved vision health outcomes.
